The Supreme Court is currently hearing petitions regarding the cancellation and re-examination of the NEET-UG 2024. These petitions were prompted by allegations of a paper leak and irregularities in the allocation of grace marks. During the proceedings, it was announced that the scores of 1,563 NEET-UG 2024 candidates had been invalidated. The National Testing Agency (NTA) informed the court that a re-examination for these candidates will take place on June 23, with results and counseling expected by June 30. The court has also issued notices to the central government and the NTA regarding these petitions. Although the sanctity of the medical entrance examination has been compromised, the court did not stay the counseling process for undergraduate medical admissions. Further hearings are scheduled for July 8.

In summary:

  • Issue: Allegations of paper leak and irregularities in grace marks allocation.
  • Action: Scores of 1,563 candidates invalidated; re-examination on June 23.
  • Result: Counseling expected by June 30.
